SBS Announcement
SBS will not be accepting new orders from June 1, 2012 through August 31, 2012.
Once all current orders are caught up we will use the downtime to move to a new location, get set up with new equipment and work out the kinks in our production process.
We are adding new bookbinders to the group who will be part of fulfilling future orders. But it was decided we needed at least 6 week practice period to ensure that our production process would run more smoothly and efficiently.

Challenging Projects
Most projects are routine, but some become unexpectedly complex.
I have been working on an 18 book soft cover project. The customer designed some great covers himself. The problem is that everything was at the wrong DPI resolution (72 vs 300).
What to do?
I decided to rescan and rebuild the cover designs for the customer. I way underestimated how long this would take. What I have learned is that it takes longer to replicate someone else’s design than build something that I design myself.
As I close in on finishing this project, I will know better next time what I am getting into.
I have closed down my current page in order to transition to something new. It may be a new facebook page or it may be an expansion of information shared via twitter. Stayed tune for future developments.
